Let’s talk about the time

Two nights in December that fit perfectly.

The same applies as with the NBA: most NHL games start between 1 am and 4 am Vienna time. But this season the league comes to Europe – and then an overnight game turns into an evening game, right inside our opening hours.

  • Global Series in Düsseldorf on 18 and 20 December – European puck drop
  • Winter Classic on 31 December – the outdoor game to close the year
  • Playoffs in spring – individual weekend games fall better
  • Everything else runs overnight – we’d rather say so up front
  • Free entry – booking recommended

The date of the year: on 18 and 20 December the NHL plays in Düsseldorf – at European time, so in the evening instead of the middle of the night. Those are the two days when ice hockey genuinely happens here. Booking is worth it.

Ice hockey has the advantage that the intermissions are long enough for a proper order. Handmade smashburgers, wings and finger food are served until 11 pm, with cold beer on tap – and what many call the best burger in Vienna.

The Global Series on 18 and 20 December falls right inside the World Darts Championship – so on both nights we run the two side by side on different screens.

Frequently asked questions about the NHL.

Do you show NHL games?

Yes – the ones that fall inside our opening hours. Most of the NHL starts between 1 am and 4 am Vienna time, when we are closed. The European fixtures and individual playoff games we show live with sound.

What is the Global Series?

Regular-season NHL games played in Europe. This season on 12 and 14 November in Helsinki and on 18 and 20 December in Düsseldorf – Ottawa Senators against Chicago Blackhawks. Because they are played in Europe, the puck drops in the evening rather than the middle of the night.

When is the 2026/27 season?

It began on 29 September 2026. Each team plays 84 games this season, two more than before, followed by the Stanley Cup playoffs in spring.

And the Winter Classic?

On 31 December, Utah Mammoth against Colorado Avalanche in the open air. Puck drop is around 10 pm Vienna time – which still fits our New Year’s Eve.

Can I request a specific game?

Yes. Let us know a few days ahead – if the start time works, we’ll put it on a screen.

Is there food?

The kitchen is open until 11 pm – smashburgers, wings and finger food, with beer on tap.
